PennDOT’s northwest District 1, with assistance from Gannett Fleming and Traffic Planning and Design, has launched the second phase of the Northwest Bike Study to gather further input from cyclists who live in or visit in Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties, and we are asking if you would please participate.

Feedback can be given through an online map and via a short survey. We are asking that you take the time to check out both options and to give input both ways by June 8, 2020.

The information you provide is very important and will assist us in improving our services and identify possible issues related to bicycling within northwest Pennsylvania.

To give feedback, visit or go to the PennDOT District 1 website,, and click on the banner for the Districtwide Bike Study. For mobile users, maps are accessible by clicking “View larger map.”

The survey is open to anyone who lives, works, or travels in the six-county region covered by District 1. We would appreciate your assistance in spreading the word about the survey to your friends, acquaintances, and colleagues by forwarding this email or sharing our Facebook post. When you visit the post, it will ask you to approve or decline seeing it on your Facebook timeline.  If you approve, you will start to see the ad on your timeline and can share if you would like.

If you would prefer to create your own social media post or share information through newsletters or other electronic means, we have attached a graphic that you can use. We suggest the following wording:

Pedal on! Give feedback on how and where bicycling conditions should be better in northwest PA. Visit .

If you experience difficulties accessing any of the survey information maps, or have questions about the study, please contact the Gannett Fleming project planner, Cara Lane at or 717-886-5298.

For general questions about the study, contact Gannett Fleming project manager Michelle Brummer at or 717-886-5295.

Thank you in advance for your assistance completing and promoting the survey, as both will help PennDOT District 1 with its goal of providing a transportation system that is safe, efficient, and cost-effective for all users.

Due to COVID-19, Stay-at-Home and non-essential business closures there have been changes made to due dates for 2020 Real Estate taxes (spring tax bill). Your discount date remains unchanged for both Crawford County and Summit Township. Changes were made to the face due date.

Crawford County opted to change the county portion of the 2020 Real Estate tax face due date to August 31, 2020, after that date the penalty will be assessed.

**Summit Township did not make the same change.**

Summit Township felt it was in the best interest of residents to change the face due date to November 30, 2020 giving residents more time to pay without penalty. There will be no penalty applied to the township portion of your 2020 real estate taxes if paid in full by November 30, 2020, if paid after that date the penalty will be assessed.

No new bill reflecting this change will be mailed.

County and Township portions must be paid in full at the same time.

Call the Summit Township office or the Summit Township Tax Collector with any questions.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) Gibson Park will be closed for the month of May 2020.

If you have reserved a date in June you will be notified after the meeting if your event will need to be cancelled.

Summit Township will be holding their regular monthly meeting on June 2, 2020 at 7:00 pm as scheduled, however due to the primary election the meeting will not be held at the township building.
